The Lifespan and Installation Process of LED Truck Headlights

There are many benefits to installing LED headlight bulbs on your truck, and RECON offers more than ten different models to meet the unique needs of your lifestyle and vehicle. The greatest benefit to installing LED truck headlights is the brighter output of the bulbs, as well as their long lifespan.

The typical LED headlight has an average lifespan of more than ten years, and any vehicle that comes with standard halogen bulbs can make the switch to LED lights. This means that the lifespan of LED headlights will most likely outlast the time you own your vehicle, requiring no maintenance or replacement.

Whether you’re a first time buyer or an experienced user of LED bulbs, RECON is able to provide guidance on the installation and maintenance of your headlights so that you can spend less time working on your truck and more time enjoying the ride.

Benefits of Installing LED Truck Headlights on Your Vehicle

Aside from the long lifespan of LED headlights, there are multiple other reasons that they’re the best type of light to use on your truck. Additional benefits of having LED truck lights installed include the following:

  • Brighter output than halogen bulbs
  • Energy efficient and Eco-friendly
  • Durability (able to withstand extreme temperatures and rough environments)
  • Cost efficient
  • Increased visibility in poor driving conditions, such as rain or fog
  • Improved fuel efficiency

The greatest benefit to installing LED truck headlights is that you will save time and money as a result of their extended lifespan, while also improving the safety and efficiency of your vehicle. You’ll have peace of mind knowing that your truck has lasting headlights and that you’ll most likely never have to fidget with a small, breakable bulb on your truck again. It’s highly recommended that you install LED truck headlights; once you do you’ll never turn back to halogen bulbs again.

How to Properly Install LED Headlights on Your Truck

Once you’ve made the decision to make the switch from traditional bulbs to LED headlights, follow these steps to properly install new LED lights on your truck.

Step One

Find the right LED light for your truck model. Plug in the make, model, and year to see which LED truck headlights are compatible with your vehicle. If you have any further questions check your vehicle manual or give RECON a call for the correct application.

Step Two

Locate and remove the halogen bulbs on your truck’s headlights.

Step Three

Place your new RECON LED truck headlight bulb into the headlight socket you have just removed the halogen bulb from and ensure that it’s secure by locking it into place. Some installations may require removing the spring loaded collar from the LED bulb and locking that into place first.

Step Four

Connect the LED ballast wiring to the new bulb and the wiring harness on your truck.

Step Five

Repeat steps two through four for each of the LED truck headlights that you are changing.

Step Six

Now that each bulb has been installed you can test the lights. Turn your truck’s headlights on and make sure the lighting is positioned correctly. You may need to adjust your truck’s headlight alignment so that the lights are at the correct height.

The Final Step

Now that you’re sure all lights are secure and working, go for a ride. You’ll see the difference in illumination compared to your old truck headlights, and since the lifespan of LED truck headlights is many years you won’t have to worry about repeating the installation process again any time soon.
